Throwback Thursday #8: MTV Spring Break

In the early 80s, MTV was a gateway for teenagers to enjoy and watch their favorite music videos. With the explosion of music being brought up on tv screens, many music-related shows and the rise of reality tv premiered on MTV defined pop culture.. To Yo! MTV Raps!, MTV unplugged, Headbangers Ball, or TRL: Total Request Live, music fans were exposed to emerging artists, who not only dominated in the 80s but in the 90s, music artists became a staple they are today. Since we are in March, it best to celebrate an MTV special that fans loved in the 90s.

MTV spring break was a show special where young college kids get to see their favorite music artists perform at a tropical location. Whether it's in Cancun or Panama City Beach in Florida, music fans use their spring vacation to enjoy the time of their lives.
Even though it started back in the late 80s, the nineties and the millennium really defined MTV spring break. From artists like Destiny's child, Limp Bizkit, Aaliyah, N'sync, Eminem, Jay-Z, and the Spice Girls, it's hard not to wish you were there.
While researching about MTV spring break, I decided to curate my favorite performances. ,
